Disable Server Shutdown and Restart Options (Active Directory)

When users have a tendency after using a remote desktop session to shutdown the server that they were working on, utilize the following to ensure the options to restart and shutdown are disabled.

Press Win + R to open the Run command dialog box

Type gpedit.msc and press Enter to open the Local Group Policy Editor

Navigate to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar

Double-click on the Remove and prevent access to the Shut Down, Restart, Sleep, and Hibernate commands option

Enable it and Apply it

All shutdown and restart options will now be removed for all users.
